Islamabad Police launches Taxi Verification App for commuters safety

Islamabad Police

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have formally launched the online Taxi Verification App, which aims to ensure public safety by verifying taxis before taking a commute.

As per the details, the initiative led by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is created for a safe travel for all citizens, especially women, children, and late-night commuters

In a statement, the federal capital police said that citizens can install the taxi verification app from the official website of Islamabad Police.

The application lets users scan a QR code available with registered taxis. The QR code will ensure that the ride is registered with the Islamabad Police’s taxi verification database or not.

Verified taxis prominently display the driver’s name and photograph, promoting safety for the commuters in the time of ride-hailing services. In the event of any discrepancies, users can easily report issues through the app’s emergency feature.

Police spokespersons said that to date, over 2,000 taxis have been registered in the system, with additional taxis being incorporated daily.
