IWMB staff apprehends hunter from Islamabad Margalla Hills National Park

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) on Sunday successfully apprehended a hunter in the Trail 6 area near a water stream in Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP).

The suspect, who was named Muhammad Nashad and lived in Sanyari village, was discovered by IWMB personnel to be lurking and waiting for prey, according to an IWMB official.

Muhammad Nashad was captured with a gun, even though one of his companions was able to flee the scene.

Since the Margalla Hills National Park is a protected region, poaching of any kind is not allowed within its borders.

Muhammad Nashad and his friend are facing legal prosecution from the IWMB, which has a zero-tolerance attitude towards poachers. They are the subject of an FIR, and more legal actions are being taken.

The IWMB spokesman said, “The protection of wildlife and the preservation of our natural heritage are paramount.”

“We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of the wildlife within Margalla Hills National Park, and we will continue to take decisive action against those who seek to exploit or harm it,” he said.

The IWMB urged the public to report any suspicious activities or incidents of poaching to the relevant authorities to help safeguard the precious biodiversity of Margalla Hills National Park.
