PTI protest: CIA building in Islamabad declared sub-jail

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has declared the Crime Intelligence Agency (CIA) building of the federal capital police in the I-9 sector as a sub-jail to keep the miscreants arrested during the ongoing PTI protest.

The notification issued by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad stated that the CIA building has been designated as a sub-jail under Section 3 of the Prison Act 1894. The approval was granted by the Ministry of Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

The decision to declare the CIA building as a sub-jail has been taken in response to a request made by the Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Islamabad Police officials to the Chief Commissioner.

As per the notification, those arrested during the recent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest will be kept in the CIA Centre, located in Sector I-9 Markaz.
