Senate’s deputy media director, family robbed in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Senate Deputy Director Media Muhammad Asadullah Khan and his family were robbed in Islamabad’s Rawal Town area on Friday.

Two armed muggers on a motorcycle stopped Asadullah’s family and looted mobile phones, cash, and valuables at gunpoint, the affected Senate official said in a complaint lodged with Shehzad Town police station.

According to the complaint, the dacoits stopped his family including Asadullah’s brother and children, and snatched two wallets with Rs600,000 cash, a mobile phone, and a bag carrying important documents before escaping from the scene.

The incident is among the series of attempted robberies and snatching that occurred in recent days in the federal capital. A man was also killed and several injured during two daylight bank robberies in the G-15 and G-9 sectors.
