KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced a nationwide protest on March 21, Friday, against the mayhem committed by the United States and Israel in Gaza.

According to JI chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, protests will be staged simultaneously all over the country against the continuous crimes of Israel in Palestine being committed under US support.

The JI chief stated that the Zionists had exhibited the worst form of fascism in Gaza, killing over 48,000, including women and children, and injuring millions.

Following the killing of the leader of the Hamas government, the Palestinian health authorities have stated that the Israeli airstrikes are occurring over 800 kilometers of airspace, killing over 400.

The Israeli airstrikes have squeezed out weeks of relative calm after negotiations surrounding a permanent ceasefire melted down. The Hamas government has accused Israel of undermining mediator efforts to negotiate a permanent agreement to stop the fighting.

Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to intensify military efforts, reinforcing that Hamas rejected proposals to secure an extension of the ceasefire. The JI chief stated that Gaza is suffering from acute food and medical supply shortages, worsening the humanitarian crisis.

Rallies will take place on the same day in all small and large cities throughout the country, with the JI chief calling on the masses to join.
