LAHORE: Expressing grief and sorrow over the tragedy of the death of 14 children after the roof of a tuition center collapsed in Kahna, traders have announced to close the market today.
According to details, the entire city is mourning the death of 14 innocent children after the roof of a tuition center collapsed in Kahna, Lahore.
Expressing deep grief and sorrow over this loss, traders of Kahna have announced to close all markets and business centers today as a sign of solidarity.
On the other hand, the funeral prayers of all the innocent children who died have been offered, where every eye was filled with tears and the entire area echoed with sobs. The ages of the deceased children are said to be between 4 and 10 years.
Initial police investigations have revealed the shocking facts of negligence and carelessness behind the accident. The report stated that this tuition center was built under a house whose roof was already weak.
At the time of the incident, repair work was underway on the same weak roof and workers were working there. Due to the debris and heavy weight of the work on the roof, the TR girders of the roof could not bear the load and suddenly broke.
As soon as the girder broke, the entire roof fell on the innocent children studying below. At the time of the incident, there were 35 children in the tuition center, out of which 14 children lost their lives while the others were shifted to the hospital in an injured condition.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the local people first started removing the debris with their own help, after which the Rescue 1122 staff reached the spot and participated in the rescue operations and pulled out the bodies and injured.
Taking action against this criminal negligence, the police have registered a formal case of the incident on the complaint of Enforcement Inspector Nishtar Zone. During the operation, 5 people, including the landlord, have been taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
