KARACHI: In a bid to alleviate the issues faced by passengers in Karachi, Pakistan Railways has announced a major relief by agreeing to add two additional stops in all trains going out from the city to other regions of the country.

And this move has brought considerable relief to commuters who are facing the problem of dealing with massive traffic jams for three days nowA religious party has been holding protests and sit-ins on major roads, causing wide-scale disruptions to traffic flow and leaving many passengers stranded.

Roads Closure due to protest

The protests have temporarily closed both tracks of the road from Guru mandir to Numaish Chowrangi, resulting in severe traffic congestion on surrounding roads and lengthy queues of vehicles.

Similarly, Abu Al Hasan Isfahani road near Abbas Town is block both ways while University Road at Metro Shopping Center towards NIPA and Shahrah -e- Faisal proceeding towards Kala Chappar Malir are block as well.

The railway travelers, in particular, faced much hassle to reach the Cantt as well as City railway station which prompted Pakistan Railways to take immediate action towards easing their woes.

To cater for the situation, Pakistan Railways has declared that all up trains will now halt for two minutes at Drigh Road Junction and Landhi railway station. As a result, passengers who can’t reach the Cantt and City railway stations owing to traffic congestion will be able to board their trains at these additional stops.

By offering this alternative, the Pakistan Railway wants to save the nuisance that passengers undergo and achieve their destinations as soon as possible. The authorities remain vigilant towards the situation and are working to monitor the inflow of traffic and lessening the traffic jams occurring to the citizens.

Advisory issued for Traffic

The traffic police are involved in efficiently managing the issues and easing the flow of traffic along the city streets. Motorists are being advised to take alternative routes and allow extra time for travel to avoid delays during these peak times.

The Traffic Police are also urging citizens to exercise patience and cooperate with the authorities as they work to restore normal traffic flow. The authorities are hoping that these measures will reduce the impact of the protests on daily life and allow citizens to go about their business with minimal disruption.

Overall, the decision by Pakistan Railways to add extra stops is a welcome move that will provide relief to passengers and help to alleviate the difficulties caused by the ongoing protests.
