Karachi: A horrific fire broke out in a passenger van at Bhains Colony Mor in Karachi, injuring 10 people, here on Sunday.

As per the media reports, the fire was started by a gas cylinder inside the vehicle. Five of the injured are in critical condition and are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The passengers were part of a family from Tando Muhammad Khan who had recently arrived in Karachi.

Rescue workers immediately reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The cause of the fire is being investigated, but initial reports suggest that the fire may have started due to a malfunctioning gas cylinder.

Earlier today, a fire broke out on the fourth floor of the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi due to a short circuit, hospital officials confirmed.

According to details, NICH officials said that the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the building due to a short circuit, which spread smoke to the fifth floor.

The fire damaged some hospital equipment, but there were no casualties. Officials at the medical facility said that the children undergoing treatment were safely shifted to other wards as a precautionary measure.

Rescue teams reached the spot as soon as they were informed and controlled the fire, preventing further damage.

Similarly, on December 21, a fire broke out in a cloth warehouse near Jamshed Road in Karachi, causing considerable damage.

According to reports, the fire spread to the ground and first floors of the building and tin sheets also fell from the first floor.

Six fire tenders and water bowsers were dispatched to the scene to control the fire. However, it took time to control it due to the intensity of the fire.

According to initial reports, no one was present in the building when the fire broke out.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah directed the concerned authorities to submit a report on the incident. He also directed them to take immediate action to control the fire and prevent further damage.
