Man jailed for 9 years in Karachi for sharing explicit photos of his wife

KARACHI: A court in the Karachi has sentenced a man to 9-year in prison for blackmailing and sharing obscene photos of his wife on WhatsApp, here on Tuesday.

As per the details, the court of Judicial Magistrate East issued a decision on behalf of the petitioner against the accused named Faizan. The court has also imposed a fine of 90 thousand rupees on him.

The prosecution said that the accused sent obscene pictures of his wife to his brother through WhatsApp and blackmailed him. The brother later filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The FIA arrested the accused and recovered obscene pictures of his wife from his mobile phone.

In her statement, the woman told the court that she married Faizan in 2019, but he kept abusing her and demanding money from her and her family.

Lawyer Safi argued that Faizan’s mobile phone was misused.

However, the court observed that the accused did not produce any witness or evidence to disprove the allegations. The court remarked that the accused tarnished the dignity of the complainant and his family by his actions.

The judicial magistrate sent Faizan to jail under the PICA Act.
