ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall across the country on Tuesday, with potential flooding and landslides in several regions.
The affected areas include Murree, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and surrounding areas, as well as northeast Punjab, including cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, and Sialkot.
Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also expected to experience heavy rainfall, along with urban areas in Peshawar, Nowshera, and Swabi.
Additionally, the northern regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, and Kohistan, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, are at risk of heavy rainfall and potential landslides.
The expected weather conditions include heavy rainfalls causing flooding and landslides, disruption in road traffic due to landslides and flooding, and urban flooding in low-lying areas, especially in cities like Lahore, Gujranwala, and Peshawar.
The maximum temperatures recorded in various major cities of Pakistan included Islamabad: 30 degrees Celcius, Karachi: 29 degrees Celcius, Lahore: 25 degrees Celcius, and Balochistan: 25 degrees Celcius.
Landslides are also expected in vulnerable regions, including upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, and Galliyat. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions, avoid traveling to vulnerable regions, especially during heavy rainfall, stay away from flooded areas, and avoid crossing flooded roads.
