Three killed in Karachi’s Drigh Road underpass accident

KARACHI: Three people were killed and one was injured after a speeding Mazda hit two motorcycles at Karachi’s Drigh Road underpass on Monday.

Police said that the accident took place within the limits of the Sharea Faisal police station.

The deceased includes a mother and son, and an injured woman, who was passing by, has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital by Edhi Ambulance.

SHO Sharea Faisal said that the driver of the car had been arrested and the vehicle was in custody.

The motorcycle riders who died in the accident were identified as 60-year-old Seema, 24-year-old Muhammad Shoaib, and 42-year-old Haris.

The woman injured in the accident was identified as 24-year-old Naila Zoja Shoaib.

SHO said that the unfortunate accident occurred due to brake failure of the speeding passenger Mazda.

The official said that the motorcycles slipped due to the presence of rainwater and mud in the underpass, and the fast passenger Mazda coming from behind ran over the motorcycle riders.
