Fatal accident in Uthal leaves nine dead, others injured

Devastating road crash leaves 17 dead, several injured in northern Pakistan

QUETTA: A horrific collision between a passenger coach and two pick-up cars leaves nine people dead and a dozen injured in the Othal area of Balochistan on Friday.

According to a Police official, the rescue teams rushed to the accident site to carry rescue operation.

Five dead bodies have been sent to District Headquarters Bela, and four dead bodies have been sent to Othal, while the injured have been shifted to the hospital for further treatment.

Rescue officials said that the passenger coach was traveling from Quetta to Karachi, while the pickup trucks were going to Khuzdar.

The collision occurred due to speeding, and the police have launched an investigation to probe the incident.

Earlier, A passenger bus turned over near Balkasar Interchange on the M-2 Motorway, killing at least eight and injuring more than 20 others, citing the motorway police.

As per details, the ill-fated bus was en route to Lahore from Rawalpindi when it suffered a fatal accident at Balkasar Interchange because of a tyre burst.

Rescue efforts were immediately initiated, and the dead and injured were shifted to the DHQ Hospital in Chakwal.

Emergency response teams were kept present to control the situation and assist the affected passengers.
