Key motorways closed in Punjab, KP due to dense fog

LAHORE: Visibility has been severely reduced in various areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to heavy fog.

Some important motorways have been closed due to fog:

  • M1: Peshawar to Burhan Interchange
  • M3: Faizpur to Jaranwala
  • M4: Sher Shah to Khanewal
  • M11: Lahore to Sambrial
  • M5: Complete closure from Rohri to Multan

Traffic flow is also affected due to fog on national highways.

Meanwhile, air pollution is also severe in various areas of Punjab. Lahore’s air quality is at the top of the world’s most polluted cities, with 484 air particulate matter meters.

According to the Punjab Environment Department, Kasur’s air index has been recorded at 374, Multan at 348 and Gujranwala at 340.
