Khawaja Asif links petrol price relief to end of war situation

ISLAMABAD: Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the day the war is over, petrol prices will start coming down.

According to the details, Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, in a conversation with the media outside the Parliament House, defended the increase in levy on petroleum products and called it a necessity for the country’s economy.

Responding to a tough question from a journalist, Khawaja Asif said that in the current situation of economic pressure, the government has to arrange funds from somewhere, the levy is a temporary arrangement, these measures are necessary in view of the economic situation.

The Defense Minister said that the prices of petroleum products are closely related to the global war situation, the day the war is over, prices will start coming down.

He expressed hope that the war will not be permanent and as soon as the situation improves, the people will get relief and prices will return to normal.

Khawaja Asif further said that there is no doubt that the increase in petrol prices has burdened the people, but petrol prices have increased all over the world. All this is the effect of the war situation between Iran and the United States.
