LAHORE: The move to place picture of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on the newly launched Kisan Card was challenged in Lahore High Court.
The applicant Mashkoor Hussain stated that CM Maryam Nawaz has okayed to emboss the picture of Nawaz Sharif on a Kissan Card but the public funds cannot be used for personal publicity.
The petitioner prayed that the public funds cannot be used for personal publicity and it is against the law to paste the picture of Nawaz Sharif on Kisan Card.
The “Nawaz Sharif Kissan Card Project,” which aims to improve the socioeconomic status of farmers in the province and the agriculture industry, was approved by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.

The meeting on agricultural reforms was chaired by the chief minister. She declared that 500,000 small farmers would receive easy-to-repay loans under the Kissan card. This one-year loan has a 150 billion rupee value.
Additionally, loans of Rs 30,000 per acre would be provided to farmers so they can buy insecticides, fertilizers, and seeds. She said that farmers would also receive various forms of subsidies under the Nawaz Sharif Kissan Card.
