PESHAWAR: Despite the passage of more than 48 hours, the issue of approval of the resignation of Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur remains a mystery.

Ali Amin Gandapur says that he has sent his resignation to the governor, and the drama should stop.

The Governor KP says that Ali Amin’s resignation has not yet reached his principal secretary; he will see it and decide after receiving it.

On the other hand, sources say, quoting legal experts, that Governor Faisal Karim Kundi may object that the resignation was not handwritten.

Assembly sources say that despite the holiday, all the staff are present in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and a meeting of the KP Assembly is likely to be called at 3 pm today, but no notification has been issued in this regard yet.

Sources say that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has also prepared a no-confidence motion against Ali Amin Gandapur.

If the Governor of KP does not sign the resignation, a no-confidence motion can be presented.

It should be remembered that at present, out of the 145-member house of the KP Assembly, the number of independent members is 93, while the number of opposition members is 52. If a no-confidence motion is presented against Ali Amin Gandapur, 73 votes are required for its approval.
