PESHAWAR: In a recent development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has warned its employees to follow the office timing which is the reason to follow all the instructions of the 9 AM to 5 PM time slot strictly.

There will be no neglect on the part of the officials regarding their official responsibilities. Violation of orders shall warrant salary cuts, transfer, or disciplinary action, instructions stated.

The order is the result of several complaints from the general public; thus a notice has already been issued to several provincial offices and departments.

The KP Finance Department’s sole target is to enhance accountability in delivering public service. The department has also reminded officials that salaries could be withheld by law upon retirement, transfer, or dismissal, making it viably unjustified to withhold them indefinitely.

In another development, the Sindh government has announced to pay all its employees advance salaries and pensions on December 18 so that the Christian community will celebrate Christmas without any problems.

According to the circular, the decision will ensure that the Christian employees receive their dues ahead of Christmas celebrations on December 25.

The Sindh Cabinet has further amended the Civil Service Act 1973, effective for the recruits from the month after July 2024. The scheme provides an “alternative to monthly pensions for retired employees”‘ governed by the Sindh Employee Benefits Scheme.
