KPK police acquires anti drone technology to target militant’s drones

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Police has acquired advanced anti-drone system technology that can target terrorist drones from miles away, according to media reports.

Official sources said that the police will be able to target and shoot down terrorist drones from miles away with the anti-drone system. The anti-drone system will also be used to protect important government events, personalities, and buildings.

Militants have used drones for terrorism in North Waziristan and southern districts, and to counter such attacks, the drone technology shall play a crucial role, as per the sources.

IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed said that we are working on acquiring more advanced technology, equipping the police with modern weapons and equipment, and the anti-drone system will also be used for security in Muharram processions.

After thermal technology in DI Khan, KP Police had also purchased modern equipment.
