Karachi police detain maid over lavish spending spree, owns cars, flats & shop

KARACHI: In a shocking revelation, a Karachi maid arrested in a case of stealing Rs50 million from a bungalow in Karachi DHA has revealed that she owns cars, flats and a shop.

According to details, Shehnaz, a domestic worker arrested for stealing Rs50 million from a bungalow in Khayaban Tanzeem area of ​​Karachi, was living an unusually lavish lifestyle over the past 15 years.

Shehnaz, a Karachi maid, told during interrogation that she owns five cars, three flats and a commercial shop and was living a lavish life.

Investigators also revealed that she had around Rs4 million in her bank accounts.

Police said that Shehnaz maintained an extravagant lifestyle, often shopping in malls and spending her evenings at high-end cafes after finishing her work.

Over a period of 15 years, she allegedly stole over Rs50 million from a specific room in the house where she worked. Investigation revealed that he used the stolen money to buy cars, properties and motorcycles.

The cars were rented out, which provided him with a substantial monthly income. Two of his three flats were also rented out. It is also said that he travelled around the city in a Rs 6.5 million car and was known for his taste in branded clothes.

Shehnaz, a Karachi maid, is said to have opened a shop for her son and co-accused Asif.

Police recovered Rs 600,000 from his residence and are currently searching for other accomplices. Investigations are also underway to determine the extent of his property holdings in his hometown.
