Lahore announces venues for Basant 2026

LAHORE: Lahore has announced various centers to conduct Basant 2026 celebrations as the city prepares to revive the traditional festival with enhanced safety and administrative measures.

Arrangements are being finalized to celebrate the event in an organized and secure way throughout the approved locations.

Basant Festival From February 6 to 8, 2026. Senior officials said that Basant Celebrations will only be allowed within officially approved venues. The reasons are strict control over safety, crowd management, and law enforcement. As a preventive measure against accidents, ensuring public order during the festival period.

For one, major parks have been selected as approved venues for Basant activities. These include Greater Iqbal Park, Jallo Park, Jilani Park, Gulshan Iqbal Park, and Model Town Park. The selection of these locations is intended to ensure better crowd management, enhanced security, and effective monitoring during the festival.

Safety Measures and Regulations

For Basant 2026, authorities have implemented extremely strict safety regulations. Completely banning fatal kite strings, metallic-coated strings, and chemically treated strings, monitoring teams are being deployed across the city to implement safety rules and prohibit their violation.
