LAHORE: The provincial government has announced a big plan to distribute 100,000 electric bicycles among students in the province. The purpose is to facilitate youth movement and encourage environmentally friendly transportation for students.

The announcement was made by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during a youth-centered event, where she emphasized the commitment of the government to empowering students with support and innovative solutions. The electric bike initiative forms part of a larger strategy that aims to offer better educational services and promote sustainable motorcycle use.

The distribution of the electric bikes has been said to impact students from various learning institutions in Punjab, according to the chief minister. This will help to simplify the problem posed to students while commuting to schools, colleges, and universities, especially where the distances are very long.

Besides the plans for the electric bike initiative, the Punjab government has other projects with a youth focal point in terms of education, technology, and skill development. This indicates that the Punjab government recognizes the youth as one of the key drivers of development in the future.
