Lahore to observe local holiday on February 6 for Basant

LAHORE: It has been decided to declare a local holiday on February 6 in Lahore.

As per the details, a local holiday will be declared in Lahore city due to Basant. On the suggestion of the district administration, the Punjab government has approved the holiday on this day so that citizens can celebrate Basant.

The district administration had suggested keeping Basant holiday on February 5, the Punjab government has declared a local holiday on Friday, February 6.

According to DC Lahore, children under the age of 18 can celebrate Basant with their families so that safety and order are maintained in the traditional celebration.

It should be noted that Kashmir Day is a holiday across the country on February 5, thus the people of Lahore will benefit from a two-day holiday on Thursday and Friday.
