ISLAMABAD: The ICC has officially announced that Scotland will replace Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh had refused to play the T20 World Cup matches in India and demanded that their matches be shifted from India to Sri Lanka.
The ICC says that detailed discussions were held on the matter for more than three weeks, contacts were also maintained with the BCB and BCB’s concerns were reviewed in every way.
According to the ICC, all issues were discussed with the BCB and assurances were also given to the BCB.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that Bangladesh is being abused, it should be in the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh is an equal country in the ICC, if India is given favor in the matter with Pakistan, then Bangladesh should also get it.
He said that this is a double standard, a country cannot dictate to anyone, if there is dictation, then Pakistan also has a position and Pakistan will stick to its position.
The PCB Chairman said that the decision regarding participation in the T20 World Cup will be taken by the government of Pakistan, more than the ICC, the decision will be taken by the government of Pakistan.
He said that the final decision regarding participation in the World Cup is awaited from the arrival of the Prime Minister, at present the Prime Minister of Pakistan is not in the country, first the government should announce the decision and then the ABC plan is ready.
