WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 100 percent tariff on Canada if it makes a trade deal with China.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump warned Canada that if it makes a trade deal with China, the US will impose a 100 percent tariff on all goods coming from Canada.

Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that if Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney thinks he will make Canada a “drop-off port” for China through which Chinese products enter the US, he is deeply mistaken.

President Trump said that if Canada makes a deal with China, a 100 percent tariff will be imposed immediately on all Canadian goods and products entering the US.
