LAHORE: The Punjab government is set to launch the electric bus service on a new route in Lahore next month.

According to the government spokesperson, 35 additional electric buses are expected to operate along the Canal Road corridor, covering the route from Thokar Niaz Baig to Jallo Mor.

The buses are scheduled to arrive in the coming days, with formal operations likely to begin in the first week of October.

A ceremony will also be held to mark the launch of the expanded service on the new route.

Currently, 27 electric buses are operating in Lahore, running on the route between Green Town and the Railway Station.

The addition of the new fleet is expected to significantly improve public transport accessibility, reduce traffic congestion, and provide citizens with a cleaner, more sustainable alternative to conventional vehicles.
