KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a college lecturer for blackmailing a female officer of the Education Department on social media, here on Thursday.
As per the details, the FIA Cyber Crime Wing processed the officer’s complaint. Accused Tufail Abbasi was arrested from Balida Town area.
An FIA official told the media that Abbasi had been harassing the female officer on social media for several months.
He said that objectionable videos of the victim were also recovered from the mobile phone of the accused. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation has been started.
Earlier this year, the FIA’s Faisalabad circle cybercrime wing arrested two accused, one for sexually harassing a woman and the other for online fraud.
The accused had allegedly uploaded objectionable videos and photos of the complainant on social media.
