SWABI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has completed all arrangements for the grand public gathering in Swabi today. Covnyos from across the country will reach Swabi Interchange, where the jalsa venue has been set up.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, party chairman Barrister Gauhar, Asad Qaiser, and other leaders will address the rally to call for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.

PTI Peshawar Region President Arbab Asim told the media that the rally will be historic as the leadership from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and central leaders from Islamabad and Punjab are expected to participate.

Daily Ausaf correspondent at the rally venue reported that he has been facing internet disruption. “We are facing difficulties in sending messages, and voice notes on WhatsApp,” he said.

Ahead of the rally, the Punjab government imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi for three days, restricting all gatherings, rallies, and weapon displays.

Rawalpindi and Attock police have heightened security to handle any law and order situation that may arise from PTI convoys departing from Punjab.

Lahore Police has also deployed 1,500 personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including the Punjab Constabulary and Highway Patrolling Police, under the supervision of Rawalpindi’s RPO.

These forces are equipped with tear gas and riot control gear. Provisions for fuel, transportation, food, and accommodations are being arranged by the CPO Rawalpindi and DPO Attock.
