ISLAMABAD: Due to processions and rallies on Ashura, Metro Bus service between Saddar Station and Faizabad in Rawalpindi has been halted as a security measure.

The suspension was made on the orders of the Rawalpindi district administration, officials said. But in Islamabad, the Metro Bus service is continuing between IJP Road and the Pak Secretariat.

Meanwhile, Blue and Green Line metro bus services have also been suspended for the last two days in Islamabad because of the same security issues during Muharram.

The BRT/People’s Bus Service in Karachi has also been suspended from 8th to 10th Muharram by the authorities, citing increased security warnings in the city.
