ISLAMABAD: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), with the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), has discovered significant gas reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Under the natural resources exploration projects of SIFC, the scope of discovery of natural resources in the mining sector has expanded, the press release read.
The discovery will significantly increase the country’s energy self-reliance and will help in reducing the energy crisis, it read.
With the support of SIFC, the discovery will also open up new ways for further explorations in the mining sector.
The discovery is expected to increase Pakistan’s gas and oil reserves, with the well currently producing 2.14 million standard cubic feet of gas and 74 barrels of condensate per day.
