ISLAMABAD: The prices of first-class ghee and cooking oil have been increased by Rs 3 per kilogram, after which the new price has reached Rs 598 per kg/liter.
Similarly, the price of cooking oil of another well-known brand has increased to a record high of Rs 618, which has further increased the worries of the people.
Moreover, the flour crisis has intensified due to the sale of wheat in black. A 15-kilogram bag of private flour has become more expensive by Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,700.
Flour is being sold at retail at Rs. 120 per kilogram instead of Rs. 100. Government flour bags of 10 kilograms and 20 kilograms are missing from the market.
Due to the high cost of flour, it has become difficult for the poor to get two-time bread. Citizens have demanded that the district administration control the prices of wheat and flour.
