LAHORE: A notification has been issued for the new working hours of government schools across Punjab, which will be effective from January 19 to April 15, 2026.
According to the notification of the School Education Department, Punjab, teaching hours for students in single-shift schools will be from 10 am to 2:15 pm from Monday to Thursday, while classes will continue on Friday from 10 am to 12:30 pm.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift has been fixed from 10 am to 2 pm and the afternoon shift from 2:15 pm to 4:45 pm.
The Monday to Thursday hours for teachers include curriculum preparation, training activities and CPD participation, and the notification has clarified that it will be mandatory for teachers to participate in training and curricular activities.
