KARACHI: In a recent development, the National Highway& Motorway police (NHMP) has launched a grand operation against traffic violations while driving on the motorway.
During a meeting in Karachi’s South Zone the Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar Raja defined that strict measures will be taken against fast lane violations on record.
The meeting also reviewed ongoing operations and resolved to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards overloaded vehicles, hence overloaded vehicles would not be allowed to enter the motorways, and legal actions would be taken against violators to make them comply with the traffic regulations.
Moreover, IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja directed officers to intensify efforts to enhance road safety and security across national highways, while ensuring the convenience of road users.
He also emphasized that professional service delivery and the high standards of conduct of National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) should be maintained, he encouraged field officers to uphold and reflect the positive impact of NHMP’s professionalism in their daily operations.
During the meeting, DIG Asghar Ali Yousafzai briefed on the operational status and achievements of South Zone with minute details of progress made in highway and motorway travel for safety and efficiency.
The vision of NHMP is to make the driving environment on national highways and motorways safe and secure, and its mission is to promote safety through effective enforcement and provision of assistance to road users.
