LAHORE: In a historic move, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved the Ramadan Nigehban relief package, providing a cash relief of Rs10,000 to 4.2 million low-income families in the province.
The special Nigehban Cards will be distributed door-to-door by the district administrations, ensuring that no family is left behind.
To activate these cards, the Punjab government has established 136 activation centers, and Bank of Punjab ATMs also provide an activation facility.
A Ramadan Nigehban dashboard will monitor the activity in real-time, and a counter-verification system will directly contact the cardholders to ensure transparency.
CM Maryam Nawaz said that the payment system will be easy and within reach, making life easier for those struggling families during Ramadan.
The provincial government has also approved the opening of the CM Ration Card, Nigehban Dastarkhwan, and Sasta Bazaars as part of relief activities.
Under the Dastarkhwan program, eight “Maryam ke Mehman” centers will be opened in every tehsil, providing daily iftar meals to 2,000 fasting people throughout the holy month.
With this revolutionary step, CM Maryam Nawaz is determined to make sure that every family in Punjab feels the essence of Ramadan, providing financial relief, food, and community care like never before.
