Pakistan set to launch second satellite ‘PAKSAT MM1’ in space tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is all set to launch its second satellite ‘PAKSAT MM1’ on Thursday, May 30.

As per the media reports, Pakistan will launch its second communication satellite ‘PAKSAT MM1’ to improve TV broadcasting, mobile phone and internet service.

According to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPERCO), the second multi-mission satellite will be launched from China’s Xichang Satellite Launch Center on Thursday.

“This satellite project is a hallmark of technical cooperation between China and Pakistan,” Suparco said in a statement.

The research commission believed that this satellite based on modern communication technology would play a significant role in improving the socio-economic condition of the country.

“This will be an important step in transforming the country into Digital Pakistan,” suggested Suparco.

“While the initial cost of satellite development may seem daunting, the long-term benefits far outweigh the investment,” he added.
