Pakistani to enjoy 4 consecutive holidays to celebrate Independence day

LAHORE: The government of Punjab declared a local holiday in the provincial capital Lahore on Friday, August 15, 2025, in consideration of the annual Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajver, also known as Data Gunj Bukhsh (RA).

Friday will be a holiday (district level) and will be applicable for all subordinate offices located within Lahore District.

According to the notification from the Services and General Administration Department (Welfare Wing), the holiday is limited only to offices located within Lahore District (and will not include Punjab Civil Secretariat-based offices and attached departments, and regional offices).

Additionally, the residents will also enjoy a public holiday on August 14 to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan with patriotic fervor.
