ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday briefed President Asif Ali Zardari of India’s “aggression and the effective response being given to India by Pakistan in the form of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos”, according to a statement from the President’s House.
President Zardari “lauded the exceptional professionalism and bravery of the country’s Armed Forces for responding appropriately to Indian unprovoked aggression and missile attacks,” the statement reads.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar were also present during the meeting in Aiwan-i-Sadr.
The president emphasized that Pakistan, as a responsible and peace-loving country, had shown “considerable restraint in the face of Indian provocations”.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took the top political leadership of the country across party lines in confidence and briefed them about ongoing Sitaution, according to media reports.
The Political Leadership paid tribute to the armed forces for the successful conduct of ‘Operation Bunyan Marsoos’, stating that the Armed forces have the full support of the people of Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif held conversations with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Barrister Gohar Ali, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khalid Maqbool, Hafiz Naeem, Khalid Magsi and Chaudhry Salik on telephone.
