SADIQABAD: Rahim Yar Khan Police have successfully recovered Constable Ahmad Nawaz, who was kidnapped by Katcha dacoits two days ago in the Machhka area.
According to authorities, Nawaz has been safely recovered and is in police custody. The recovery operation was led by DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal, who stated that ensuring the constable’s safe return was the top priority.
DPO Gondal underscored the strong police presence in the “kacha” area and the force’s high morale, reaffirming their dedication to eliminating criminal elements and securing the region from bandits.
Moreover, he highlighted the police’s high focus on their objectives made the safe recovery of Constable Ahmed Nawaz possible, describing it as a notable achievement for the police department.
However, sources suggest that a deal was made between police and the kidnappers, resulting in the release of murder accused Jabbar Lolai, who had been jailed for two years, in exchange for Nawaz’s freedom.
Jabbar Lolai is affiliated with the Andharh Gang and was convicted of murdering Mehr Sheikh near Nawababad. The gang celebrated his release by firing shots and sharing videos on social media.
The police are investigating the matter further. This incident follows a recent attack on police vehicles in Machhka, where 12 policemen were martyred and seven injured in a rocket attack. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar stated that the police vehicles were attacked with rocket launchers in the Katcha area.
