ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari will confer the Nishan-e-Pakistan, the highest civilian award of Pakistan, on the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan during their upcoming official visits to Pakistan.
The Nishan-e-Pakistan is Pakistan’s most prestigious civilian honour. It is awarded to individuals who have rendered services of the highest distinction to the national interest of Pakistan and has often been conferred on visiting Heads of State as a mark of respect and friendship, reflecting the strength of bilateral relations.
Investiture ceremonies will be held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr where the President of Pakistan will formally confer the decorations on the two visiting dignitaries.
The state banquets will also be hosted in honour of the Presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The events will be attended by members of the federal cabinet, parliament, and diplomatic corps, in addition to other dignitaries.
