KARACHI: In a recent development, the Karachi-based Sky Wings Aviation firm has announced a specially crafted air ambulance service for Parachinar.
Imran Aslam Khan, CEO of Sky Wings Aviation, announced on Thursday that the company will begin operating the air ambulance service for Parachinar immediately. “For the air ambulance service, it has been decided to send two aircraft to Parachinar immediately,” Khan stated.
Aslam urged the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to approve the air ambulance service’s flight operation for Parachinar right now.
Additionally, he shared information about the air ambulance, stating that two aircraft, a Diamond DA 40 and a more recent Piper Seneca, have been assigned to Parachinar’s air operations.
He stated that Punjab’s Rescue 1122 air ambulance service now uses a modern Piper Seneca aircraft that was imported. Currently, the aircraft is being inspected by the CAA.
The problem faced by the people have been worsened due to the ongoing Parachinar lockdown since October 13. The district affected by the violence, is facing severe lack of food, gasoline, and medications.
Prior to this, life-saving medications and severely ill patients were transported from Parachinar to Peshawar and Rawalpindi by the helicopters of the Federal Cabinet, the Punjab Health Department, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Upon the worsening situation of Kurram, the Edhi Foundation also launched an air ambulance service to help the ill and injured people effectively.
