ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram said that PTI has always followed the constitutional path and approached the courts whenever it faced any difficulty or obstacle.

He said that Ali Amin Gandapur himself had announced his resignation by standing up in the assembly, after which the party took the legal path in the context of the political situation.

According to Sheikh Waqas Akram, the recent decisions of the Peshawar High Court have improved the prospects of justice, and the party has appreciated the court’s decisions and expressed full faith in the judiciary.

He said that the founder of PTI has always emphasized that justice will be achieved through the courts, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

He criticized the delay by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the role of local lobby, saying that this approach has unnecessarily complicated political matters.

Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the issue of resignations within the party reflects political complexities, but now is the time for PTI to create unity within its ranks.

According to him, the party has a majority in the House, so decisions should be taken unitedly so that political stability is maintained.

He said that if anyone delays the files or stops legal proceedings, the party’s legal wing will respond immediately. According to him, such behavior makes a mockery of institutions and democratic processes, which will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The PTI Information Secretary clarified that the Chief Minister’s approval was not challenged, but rather, political matters were under discussion.

He said that the JUI’s decision not to present a lawyer in the court also seems to be part of a political strategy. He was speaking on ABN News’ program “Sawal Se Aagye”.

Talking about internal differences, Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the only solution to end the division in the party is a clear and immediate decision of the leadership.

He said that the public test for the leaders who defected has come in the form of election results, and there is a clear lesson in it.

Finally, he said that the delay of the governor and the local lobby has further complicated the situation, which needs to be taken note of.

He questioned whether the newly elected Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is capable of dealing with the current challenges or not.

According to him, the party needs to adopt a clear strategy at this time so that political stability and public trust can be restored.
