ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly Iqbal Afridi’s membership has been suspended for the current session and expelled from the House.
This disciplinary action was taken for misbehaving with a security official at the gate of the Parliament House.
During the session of the National Assembly, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq took a strong stand while giving details of this unpleasant incident and said that PTI Member Iqbal Afridi behaved very rudely and misbehaved with a security official on duty at Gate No. 1 of the Parliament House.
A motion to suspend the membership was moved by the Speaker, which was approved by the House of the National Assembly with a majority vote, after which his entry into Parliament for the current session was banned.
After the suspension motion was passed, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq ordered the suspended PTI member to leave the assembly hall immediately.
The Speaker sternly addressed Iqbal Afridi and said, “Your dignity lies in leaving the house now. If you do not leave yourself, then we will have to force you out of the house.”
He said that members who do not respect law enforcement and security personnel cannot be given any concessions under any circumstances.”
After receiving a final warning from the Speaker and passing the motion to suspend his membership, PTI member Iqbal Afridi quietly left the National Assembly without any further resistance.
