MUZAFARGAPH: A public holiday has been declared on Saturday, November 8, in the Muzaffargarh district of Punjab to mark the 10th Jeep Rally and local fair celebrations.
According to media reports, the four-day rally, organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) and the district administration, began on Thursday.
The thrilling competition spans the desert routes of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, and Layyah, with drivers from Pakistan and abroad also participating.
As per the official schedule, the registration and technical and medical inspections continued from 9 am to 3 pm.
The qualifying round will be held on November 7 at Head Muhammad Wala Chaga Manga, while the stock category race will be held on November 8, and the modified and women’s category competitions on November 9 (Sunday).
The closing ceremony will be held at Faisal Stadium. According to District Police Officer (DPO) Ghazanfar Ali Shah, more than 400 personnel, including 3 DSPs and 11 inspectors, will be deployed for security during the event, while a search operation has also been completed on the rally route.
The DPO said that strict security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order and protect participants and spectators so that the public can enjoy the event in a peaceful and safe environment.
