Punjab CM Maryam emphasises women’s education at Anatolia Diplomacy Forum

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz delivered a compelling speech at the Anatolia Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye, highlighting the significance of education and women’s empowerment.

As the first female Chief Minister of Punjab, she underscored her administration’s efforts to modernize education and empower women. Maryam Nawaz showcased the achievements under her leadership, including reactivating non-functional schools and integrating modern technology into classrooms.

She emphasized the importance of information technology in education, announcing that Punjab would be standardizing all of their schools to more advanced technology platforms.

She also announced Pakistan’s first Internet City in Punjab, signifying her commitment to cultivating digitalization. She highlighted the education of women and described her government‘s programs that work to support the empowerment of young women from developing a leadership platform for high school students with planned initiatives.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her dedication to developing health and education in Punjab and ensuring a positive future for the province. Her initiatives include the modernizing of 4,000 primary schools and supporting the development of digital classrooms in 6,000 schools, as well as pursuing the introduction of Pakistan’s first Artificial Intelligence University in Punjab.

These initiatives more than showcase her interest in developing cultivation and innovative development and education. The Punjab government’s commitment to education is further demonstrated by the announced recruitment of 30,000 new school teachers based solely on merit.

Moreover, a separate training college for teachers and curriculum development is now established, along with ongoing professional development/learning programs to goal 21st-century learning. Maryam Nawaz’s remarks were well taken by many world leaders at the Anatolia Diplomacy Forum and contributed to collaborative action in support of women’s education and humanity.

Turkish first lady Emine Erdoğan especially appreciated her remarks, commending her work on education and women’s empowerment. This complements Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s instructions for educational promotion that require appropriate steps to facilitate the education sector or skill sector to promote national development.
