LAHORE: The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has announced a new procedure to distribute the relief amount of Rs10,000 among each deserving family under the Nigahban Ramazan package.
The provincial cabinet has given approval of Rs 30 billion for the Ramazan Package, likely to benefit about 30 million people.
To make the process more efficient and dignified, the chief minister has announced that ATM cards will be introduced for the Ramazan package from next year, allowing people to receive Rs10,000 from ATMs instead of waiting in long queues.
As put forth by the chief minister, the Nigahban Ramazan Package is the right of the underprivileged and an obligation of the government where they ought to be given their rights with respect and dignity.
To make certain that selections are available in a reasonable manner, CM Maryam Nawaz told citizens to finish the registration of the Nigahban Ramazan Package by February 15.
Citizens can avail themselves of the benefit by completing registration personally for the program via the 4,000-plus registration centers formed throughout the province at the union councils or via the PSER Portal when registering online.
In the case of online registration, applicants must provide their full name, CNIC, mobile network used, mobile number, email address, and password for logging in such that they can reach their account.
For the Ramazan Package, the other additional details to finish the registration process will be provided soon after by the government. The procedure adopted for Ramazan Package ATM cards is a major step towards providing relief to the citizens in a dignified manner and is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people in Punjab.
