Punjab govt decides to provide Rs 10,000 cash assistance to citizens

LAHORE: The Punjab government has officially approved the provision of cash assistance to citizens under the Maryam Batain program to make the financial relief system more effective.

A total of one billion rupees has been allocated for this program.

According to reports, citizens will be provided with cash assistance of up to Rs 10,000 under this program. The aim of the project is to provide immediate relief to the people and make the complaints system more active and effective so that ordinary citizens can directly communicate their problems to the government and get immediate help.

The Punjab government has also approved a review of the eligibility criteria and financial funding mechanism so that the distribution of assistance can be ensured in a transparent and organized manner. The Planning and Development Board has approved the agenda of this project through circulation.

According to officials, this program will continue until the entire allocation of one billion rupees is distributed. Citizens will be able to apply through a special mobile app and helpline to avail this facility.

Under the program, after screening the applications, eligible citizens will be provided with direct cash assistance of up to Rs 10,000.

Government sources say that this initiative is expected to reduce public complaints and improve the system of immediate relief.
