Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Punjab (IGP),  said today that there is no real security threat and that no directives to close schools or colleges have been given in response to social media claims that purported the closure of educational institutions in Lahore.

Speaking to the media, Punjab’s Inspector General (IG) reassured the public that all educational institutions are open for business and that police are maintaining strict security measures. He also urged the public to disregard false reports that are circulating on social media, stressing that they are unfounded and an improper use of the internet.

To ensure complete security coverage, the Lahore police force has increased its presence near educational institutions. Staff members, parents, and kids are urged to exercise caution and notify law enforcement of any questionable activity.
