A new program offering discounted travel cards to individuals with impairments has been introduced by the Punjabi government. You can get a 50% discount on public transportation prices by using these cards.

The goal of the campaign, which was started under the Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act, is to improve disabled people’s accessibility to public transit.

All disabled individuals who possess a government-issued disability certificate are eligible to participate in the concessionary travel card scheme. The Deputy Director of Social Welfare’s office in each district is where people can apply for the card.

Seniors and students can travel for free on the Orange Line Metro Train, Metro Bus Service, and Speedo Bus Service, according to announcing made by the caretaker provincial administration last year. However, the provincial government made the decision to stop the service just before the winter break.
