The labour department has confirmed a major increase of Rs 200,000 in the marriage grant for labourers’ children. It was earlier Rs 400,000 and has now increased to Rs 600,000.

The Punjab government has also increased the death grant, the assistance given to the families of deceased labourers. From Rs 800,000 to an impressive Rs 1,000,000. The development is aimed at providing meaningful financial stability to grieving families at a critical time.
