Punjab schools to reopen on THIS date after winter holidays end

LAHORE: The Punjab government has not taken any decision to extend the winter holidays for schools in Lahore and other cities.

However, the extension of the vacations may be considered based on the weather conditions in the province.

As per the details, all government and private schools in Punjab are scheduled to reopen on January 13 (Monday) as the authorities had announced winter vacations from December 23 to January 10.

Since January 11 and 12 (Saturday and Sunday) are weekly holidays, educational institutions will reopen on January 13.

Meanwhile, schools and colleges in Sindh have resumed academic activities from January 1, 2025, after the winter vacations.

Weather forecast

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) weekly forecast, the weather is likely to be cold and dry in most parts of the country while it is likely to be very cold and partly cloudy in the upper areas and northern Balochistan.

Isolated rain is likely in northeast Punjab, Kashmir, and adjoining hilly areas. Fog is likely in the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

If there is a need to extend the winter vacations, the provincial authorities will review the weather conditions and other aspects.
