Punjab teachers demand extension in winter holidays

LAHORE: In light of the clement weather, the Punjab Teachers’ Union has requested an extra 10-day holiday for the students of the primary school. The union has said that allowing the kids to stay home would be a necessary measure to safeguard their health.

The General Secretary, Rana Liaquat Ali, mentioned that severe cold is one of the key factors that raise the likelihood of suffering from pneumonia among kids.

He underlined that the government ought to put children’s health first and make a quick decision by assessing the existing weather conditions, so as to avoid health risks along with interruptions in education.
